Nordstrom Print Textile Designer, Fashion/Patterns - Hybrid (Seattle - WA) in Seattle, Washington

Job Description

Our talented design team — the Nordstrom Product Group — develops, designs, produces and sources 50-plus private Nordstrom labels. From traditional to trendy, this team is shaping the styles and looks our customer loves. Our Print Designers are r esponsible for managing the design process from concept to completion while partnering with the Senior Designer and Director to ensure alignment on priorities and artwork direction.

A day in the life…

  • Consistently shop and research marketplace, including our competitors for inspirations and opportunities in product, fabric, wash, color.

  • Actively participates in the conceptual development of print story and seasonal direction.

  • Effectively presents work/direction to cross functional partners & actions feedback.

  • Ensures the print is consistent with market trends and business strategy.

  • Strong ability for understanding & identifying artwork application to key silhouettes/ items

  • Ensure print is being designed within cost parameters.

  • Create and present design boards for each season showcasing print direction.

  • Works closely with design partner to ensure print point of view is in line with overarching seasonal direction.

  • Create artwork and prints for each season.

  • Represents print direction in milestone and leadership meetings.

  • Strong ability for understanding & identifying artwork application to key silhouettes/items.

    You own this if you have…

  • 5 + years design experience

  • College degree in Fashion Design, Textiles or a related field.

  • Strong design and conceptual skills.

  • Strong knowledge of textiles, artwork techniques & fabric.

  • Strong sense of textile and color application.

  • Proficient in Illustrator and capable in Photoshop, InDesign, NED Graphics , Procreate and/or Fresco .

  • Positive and passionate with strong problem-solving skills.

  • Desire to work in a collaborative environment and build strong relationships with business partners & team mates .

  • Highly organized and detail oriented with ability to multi task and prioritize.

  • Ability to identify key trends and determine how they appropriately relate to the brand/ consumer.

  • Ability manage and help develop skills of direct reports.

  • Clear and effective verbal and written communication skills.

Pay Range Details

The pay range(s) below are provided in compliance with state specific laws. Pay ranges may be different in other locations.

Washington: $80,000 - $132,000

This position may be eligible for performance-based incentives/bonuses. Benefits include 401k, medical/vision/dental/life/disability insurance options, PTO accruals, Holidays, and more. Eligibility requirements may apply based on location, job level, classification, and length of employment.
