RADIOLOGIC TECHNICAL ASSISTANT

Job Description:

Assist Imaging staff with patient care duties. Maintains supplies and keeps exam room prepared and ready for patients. Handles reception and clerical duties as required. Delivers exemplary service to patients, families, and physicians, and co-workers.

Under the supervision of the Imaging Staff, assists with patient care duties. Assists staff with the cleaning of equipment after each patient.

Duties may include greeting patients, directing patients to designated changing areas, and giving verbal instructions on changing for examinations.

Keep patients cared for in a timely manner and keep them informed of any delays and wait times while ensuring all work areas kept stocked and organized.

Transport patients as needed.

Maintains appropriate documentation for regulatory standards and medical records, while safeguarding patient confidentiality.

Report any issues with IT equipment, faxes, phones, etc to imaging staff.

Demonstrates working knowledge of infection control practices for patients, self, and staff.

Assists with clerical functions related to Meditech and PACS such as scanning documents, burning or uploading CDs. Assists with image loan requests as necessary.

Informed and aware of all COVID & Infection Control processes.

Understands policies and procedures for Diagnostic Imaging and Hospital.

Practices all patient interactions with compassion while adhering to double identifier practices.

Minimum Education

Preference is given to individual currently enrolled in a Radiologic Technologist or similar type of program, High School Diploma or G.E.D.
