Description of Work Unit

Founded in 1870, Colorado State University is among the nation’s leading research universities and enrolls approximately 32,000 undergraduate, graduate, and professional students. Throughout its history, the School of Social Work at Colorado State University has made a continuous effort to develop and maintain a program that is responsive to three-distinct, but related interests:

  • The profession of social work as represented by the Council on Social Work Education’s Educational Policy and Accreditation Standards.

  • The human services agencies and clients in the state, the region, the nation, and the globe, and

  • The land-grant oriented mission and goals of Colorado State University.

Position Summary

The School of Social Work Research Center, and the School of Social Work, seeks applications through the academic year from individuals who are interested in obtaining temporary or special research positions within the department in the areas of child well-being and maltreatment. This position(s) will support and be part of a team of researchers completing applied research studies and program evaluations in child welfare and related fields for county, state, and federal agencies. The open position(s) may be temporary or special assignment. Annual terms may depend on continued availability of funding.

Qualifications forResearch Associate Iare for individuals with a Bachelor’s degree and less than 3 years of professional, post-baccalaureate experience.

Qualifications forResearch Associate IIare more than 3 years of relevant professional experience for an individual with a Bachelor’s degree, or a Master’s degree and no other significant professional experience.

Qualifications forResearch Associate III are individuals with a Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of work-related experience, or a Master’s degree with at least 2 years experience. Individuals with a PhD who have no additional experience may also be appointed to this position.

Required Job Qualifications

Research Associate applicants must hold a B.S. degree in an appropriate discipline.

Preferred Job Qualifications

A minimum of one-year work experience is preferred.
