Job Description:

Analyze purchased products daily to keep an adequate supply for manufacturing & sales. Communicate with current international vendors to address any supply issues to ensure timely and accurate shipments to minimize shipping disruptions to our customers.

Key Activities and Responsibilities:

• Reviews MRP reports, calculates suggested buys and submits for approval. Creates Purchase orders from Approved Suggested Buys and transmits them to vendors.

• Ensures Purchase Orders are confirmed and maintains accurate information in the system (ship dates, quantities, etc.)

• Reviews daily purchasing reports and acts on the results by Expediting and/or delaying shipment of orders based on inventory levels.

• Handles all issues relating to international vendors (i.e. quality, shipping, expediting, pricing, item changes, obtains quotes, sets up/maintains stocking programs)

• Addresses and resolves any problems that are delaying the order from being processed.

o Unit of measure discrepancy between sales order and purchase order

o Cost increase from vendor

o Inaccurate shipping addresses

o Shipping method

• Follows up with vendor to get scheduled ship dates and ensure that ship dates are met.

• Process defective merchandise returns and shipment shortages.

• Reviews shipping documents from vendors for accuracy and addresses any issues in a timely manner. Submits all necessary documents to Accounting for processing.

• Maintains accurate vendor/shipment files.

• Works closely with freight Forwarders and Customs Brokers to provide and obtain necessary documentation for shipments.

• Maintains close communication with Shipping and Receiving, providing them with necessary documentation for expected shipments/returns. Coordinates prompt deliveries and perform necessary tasks in system in preparation of shipments/returns.

Requirements

Requirements:

• BA in Business or equivalent degree preferred

• 3+ years’ experience in international purchasing or equivalent experience

• Good communication skills, high energy and a focused, positive attitude are highly desirable.

• Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook (e-mail) programs

• Must be able to work independently

• Strong team player with a proven ability to work effectively with others at all levels

• Excellent organizational, analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills
