About the role

We are looking for an experienced EH&S Manager who will be responsible for implementing occupational Health and Safety policies and programs for a location or site. EH&S Manager will also be in charge of inspection and evaluation processes for workplace environments, equipment or practices to achieve and maintain compliance with safety standards and government regulations. He/ she will recommend improvements related to investigations of industrial accidents, injuries, or occupational diseases to determine causes and preventative measures.

As the ES&H Manager, you will be responsible for:

  • Ensuring the business operations and staff are compliant with current and future UK EH&S legislation

  • Maintaining and developing EH&S management systems to ensure corporate EH&S compliance.

  • Promoting a positive and pragmatic EH&S culture throughout the business.

  • Further development of EH&S related procedures and policies for new equipment installation & commissioning activities

  • Ensuring completion of EMEAR corporate reporting requirements for UK/NE.

  • Networking with EMEAR counterparts and attend meetings as required. Managing EH&S training requirements as necessary, delivering in house training where possible.

  • Developing a management team audit process and train out.

  • Continuing development and promotion of the UK Carrier Safe Assurance program.

  • Providing feedback and support as required to Engineering/Manufacturing in order to ensure current and future product designs are optimised in terms of field safety.

  • Representing the business at industry/government committees and events.

  • Providing and meeting EH&S budgets and operational targets.

  • Leading EH&S Oversight Committee Meetings (EHSOCM) and ensure completion of actions.

  • In conjunction with Technical Operations, ensuring the service network is prepared to work safely and efficiently with alternative energy sources and refrigerants such as battery packs, CNG/LNG, CO2, HFOs etc.

  • Managing and providing proof of site and workshop compliance by way SSoW, risk assessments, method statements etc as required.

  • Conducting periodic management audits and reviews of the Padborg/CT Scandinavia HQ & workshop, providing feedback and advice to the local team.

What we are looking for

  • Previous experience in developing and managing EH&S systems and processes in a field service or engineering focused environment

  • Experience of working within a matrix management structure, ideally with international exposure.

  • Recognised EH&S management qualifications & evidence of on-going professional development.

  • UK driving license essential.

  • Understanding of UK EH&S legislation

  • Sound knowledge of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and e-mail with ability to interpret and present data in a detailed manner.

  • Ability to advise and influence stakeholders at all levels from the shopfloor through to the boardroom.

  • Self-starter used to operating under own autonomy whilst continually challenging the status quo and proposing areas for further development/improvement.

  • Ability to promote and position EH&S in a positive, effective and energetic manner.
