DT Professional Services Junior Proposal Manager in Chesapeake, Virginia

Job Summary:

DT Professional Services is seeking a candidate to join our dynamic Business Development team as a Junior Proposal Manager, who will be responsible for low to mid level complexity information technology professional services proposals to the federal government. This position interfaces with assigned business units or functional areas, leveraging their experience to ease the development of information to support proposal submission. The Junior Proposal Manager supports the creation and preparation of company proposals, ensuring timeliness and accuracy to RFI/RFQ/RFP/Solicitation instructions. Their responsibilities revolve around producing proposal documentation, following up on tasks to various departments, and processing all assigned actions. This position will receive mentoring for information technology services and government proposal development best practices from more experienced Proposal Managers.

The candidate will be working in a fast-paced environment and able to adapt to changing priorities and will support Capture Managers, other Proposal Managers and Executives. The candidate must be highly organized, attentive to detail, comfortable supporting multiple/simultaneous proposal development assignments, deliver measurable results on a daily basis, and be able to work independently in a remote work environment.

Candidates for this position must have the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Clearance. The ideal candidate will be based from and work at our Chesapeake, VA office location.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the proposal development processes

  • Create, edit, and analyze relevant information to support proposal efforts

  • Develop drafts and edit final supporting documentation to support proposal efforts

  • Complete action items and tasks assigned by a capture managers, other proposal managers and executives

  • Work with executives, leadership, and the workforce to support proposal efforts

    Basic Qualifications:

  • Associate’s degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, Economics, Mathematics, or related field

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Clearance

  • Live local to our Chesapeake, VA office location

  • 2+ years’ preparing written documentation to specific instructions

  • 2+ years’ direct experience working in a team environment supporting the development of shared deliverables

  • 2+ years demonstrated experience performing research and analysis

  • Demonstrated experience developing technical related material

  • Demonstrated excellence in organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines

  • Excellent oral and verbal communication skills

  • Excellent writing and time management skills

  • Exceptional interpersonal, problem solving, and business acumen

  • Proactive, attention to detail, project management, and organizational skills

  • Experience with Google Suite of tools and/or MS Office products

    Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, Economics, Mathematics, or related field

  • Familiarity with government contracting to include pricing, financial analysis, and contracts with federal agencies such as DOD, USDA, NIH, HHS, and FDA

  • 2+ years monitoring and interpreting industry statistics and trade literature

  • 1+ years conducting competitive analysis, gathering competitive intelligence

  • 1+ years of writing experience related to information technology professional services, technical writing or project management

  • 1+ years of proposal development experience related to information technology professional service technical solution development for the Federal Government market

    The compensation for this position: $60,000 annually
