Description

We are looking for a skilled Data Engineer experienced with Azure Data Studio and Azure Data Factory (ADF) to join our team. As a Data Engineer, you will play a critical role in designing, developing, and maintaining data pipelines and workflows to enable efficient data processing and analytics. Your expertise in Azure Data Studio and ADF will contribute to the successful implementation of data solutions that meet our business needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with data architects, analysts, and stakeholders to understand data requirements and translate them into technical solutions.

  • Design, develop, and implement data pipelines and ETL processes using Azure Data Factory (ADF) to ingest, transform, and load data from various sources into target data platforms.

  • Utilize Azure Data Studio for data modeling, query development, and performance tuning to optimize data processing and analysis.

  • Develop and maintain data integration solutions to ensure the smooth flow of data between different systems and environments.

  • Implement data governance and security measures to protect sensitive information and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

  • Monitor and troubleshoot data pipelines and workflows to identify and resolve issues in a timely manner, ensuring data integrity and availability.

  • Collaborate with infrastructure and DevOps teams to deploy and manage data solutions in Azure cloud environments.

  • Stay updated on the latest trends and advancements in data engineering, particularly in Azure Data Studio, ADF, and related Azure services, and incorporate best practices into projects.

  • Provide technical guidance and support to junior data engineers as needed, fostering a collaborative and learning-oriented environment.

    Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).

  • Proven experience as a Data Engineer with expertise in building and maintaining data pipelines and workflows.

  • Strong proficiency in Azure Data Studio for data modeling, query development, and optimization.

  • Hands-on experience with Azure Data Factory (ADF) for orchestrating and automating data integration processes.

  • Solid understanding of data warehousing concepts and best practices, including data modeling, dimensional modeling, and ETL/ELT.

  • Experience working with SQL-based databases (e.g., SQL Server, Azure SQL Database) and familiarity with SQL query optimization techniques.

  • Knowledge of cloud computing concepts and experience working with Azure cloud services, particularly Azure Data Lake Storage, Azure Synapse Analytics, and Azure SQL Data Warehouse.

  • Familiarity with version control systems, particularly Git.

  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with a proactive mindset towards troubleshooting and debugging.

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certification in Azure Data Engineering or related Microsoft Azure technologies.

  • Experience with other data engineering tools and technologies such as Apache Spark, Databricks, or Kafka.

  • Knowledge of data visualization tools and techniques for creating insightful dashboards and reports (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).

  • Familiarity with data governance and compliance frameworks (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA).

  • Contributions to open-source projects or a strong online presence in the data engineering community.
