Develop and perform scientific research requiring special qualifications or attainment, with wide latitude for independent action and decision under the mentorship of Dr. Stephen Yi in cancer research. Responsible for complex or unusual research assignments requiring the development of new or improved techniques and procedures. Take independent responsibility to lead several projects in the Yi Lab, including project design, execution and data analysis. Serve as a major driver in collaborations with other labs at Dell Medical School, UT main campus and other universities. Conduct research in several projects, including RCRC, CRISPR screen analysis, disease genomics and functional data analysis, and immunotherapy data models. Generate preliminary data for the LCI Developmental Therapeutics Lab.Propose, plans, schedules, coordinates, completes and reports the detailed phases of a part of, or all of, a research project. Devises new approaches to problems encountered. Oversees and assists in the preparation of specifications. Engage in services involving data organization, analysis and visualization, including increased scope in data types to be analyzed: new data include CUTandRUN, CRISPR and single cell data.Assume responsibility for acceptance or rejection of results achieved. Submits project results to management. Reports results of research in submissions to contracting agencies, in-house publications, journal articles and books, as appropriate. Mentor junior members of the lab, including graduate and undergraduate students.Other related duties as assigned.
